Its been 2000 years now since Jesus Christianity was Established and now today we have 40000 + Christian sects ?
by smiddy3 inemperor constantine might have got the message 17 centuries ago but surely god must by now realize that the mission has failed .?.
surely he should as he has on past experience in the old testament now approach a world leader of either the usa ,england ,russia ,china ,or the united nations or even israel and make his judgement`s known .?.
why has he been so quiet all of these years ?

When did WT recently change the Insight on the Scriptures -- that 31 year old Bible encyclopedia?
by FatFreek 2005 ini would like to pinpoint when watchtower made a dramatic backward editorial change in their 31 year old insight on the scriptures, their flagship bible encyclopedia.
below, number 1 quotes the insight book as it appeared in the original release back in june 1988.. 1.
“this is also illustrated by what happened to the cities of sodom and gomorrah and their inhabitants.

Thank you, Blondie. However, I'm sure I didn't make myself clear with my question.
I would like to pinpoint when Watchtower made a dramatic backward editorial change in their 31 year old Insight on the Scriptures, their flagship Bible encyclopedia.
I actually want to know WHEN they made the editorial change from my quotation 1 to the quotation 2. It apparently was between the 2013 WT Lib CD and the one I downloaded several months ago.
Since I don't have CDs after 2013 I am pleading with ya'll for help in this matter.
Again, I apologize for my lack of clarity in my original post.

I would like to pinpoint when Watchtower made a dramatic backward editorial change in their 31 year old Insight on the Scriptures, their flagship Bible encyclopedia.
Below, number 1 quotes the Insight book as it appeared in the original release back in June 1988.
1. “This is also illustrated by what happened to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and their inhabitants. Jude indicated that these cities were everlastingly destroyed. (Jude 7; compare 2Pe 2:6.) However, Jesus’ words recorded in Matthew 10:15 show that at least some of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah will receive a resurrection.” Insight on the Scriptures (Jun 17, 1988), V1, p 616, Source WT Lib 2013 [version 15.0 Build 4577]
Below, number 2 quotes the Insight book as it appears today -- well, as of a few months ago when I downloaded their WT Library from JW dot org.
2. "Thus, being consigned to Gehenna refers to utter destruction from which no resurrection is possible.—See GEHENNA.
“Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them . . . are placed before us as a warning example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire.” (Jude 7) That punishment evidently applies not merely to the physical cities but to their inhabitants as well, because it was the people themselves who committed the gross sins that led to their annihilation." Insight on the Scriptures, [Source WT Library 2017 [Version 19.0 Build 7630] V1, p 617
Number 1 is from my WT Lib 2013.
They apparently made the editorial change (from Sodomites being resurrected to Sodomites not being resurrected) between those two library releases.
I don't have WT Libs between those two.
If any of you have a tween Lib, please check to see if yours matches either of the above.
If different than the 2013 Lib, please paste the source information by clicking "Help" then "About Watchtower Library". It should look something like the following image:

wt 1978Feb 15th p 30 seems to have been removed.. funny that.. Reminds me of the call to get rid of all the wt libraries a time back.. a few commentators here were quoting stuff the gb didn't like being reminded of.
Nope -- both my latest CDs have it intact. Here's the quote from the Library as downloaded a few months (Feb) ago.
The Watchtower, 1978 2/15 pp. 30-31 Questions From Readers ***
"Beyond these basic guidelines the Scriptures do not go and, hence, we cannot do more than counsel in harmony with what the Bible does say. In the past some comments have appeared in this magazine in connection with certain unusual sex practices, such as oral sex, within marriage and these were equated with gross sexual immorality. On this basis the conclusion was reached that those engaging in such sex practices were subject to disfellowshiping if unrepentant. The view was taken that it was within the authority of congregational elders to investigate and act in a judicial capacity regarding such practices in the conjugal relationship.
A careful further weighing of this matter, however, convinces us that, in view of the absence of clear Scriptural instruction, these are matters for which the married couple themselves must bear the responsibility before God and that these marital intimacies do not come within the province of the congregational elders to attempt to control nor to take disfellowshiping action with such matters as the sole basis. Of course, if any person chooses to approach an elder for counsel he or she may do so and the elder can consider Scriptural principles with such a one, acting as a shepherd but not attempting to, in effect, “police” the marital life of the one inquiring."

Tech49 "There it is.! No more WT Libraries on DVD/CD-ROM."
Yeah, that put a lump in my throat for a moment, However, the following image is on JW dot org, with the download link right behind. This is not to say they won't turn off this spigot in future but as of several weeks ago the link worked. After downloading, you have an ISO file and on Windows, right click and the proceeding menus will step you through the process.
